It is very important to do warm ups before exercises and strenuous activities. Most of the people do not do warm-up exercises, simply ignores it before workout not knowing the benefits of it.
Why warm up?
Changes of respiratory rate, oxygen intake, nutrient levels to the cells, blood flow will be in higher rate after the physical exercises or activities initiated. Workout will result less results without warm up. While doing warm up, working of nervous systems, alertness, awareness, loosening of muscles and bones will make injury free life. It will prevent the risk of wear and tear of bones and muscles. Heart will get some time to adjust to pump the blood.
Exercise without warm up may end up with heart attacks for the older people. This is very important for them because they do have less supple tissues, less lubrications between the joints, and weak heart.
Proper warm up:
Main purpose of warm up is to beat the heart faster than normal. Walk slowly or jog, increase the speed gradually until higher rate of heart rate and temperature reached. It may differ person to person according to their fitness level. Stretching should follow after the warm up exercise, which helps to develop flexibility in spine, hip, shoulder, etc.
Exercising everyday is a healthy lifestyle, but one must follow the precautionary measures properly.
Warm down is also the important aspect, which should be followed after the workout to bring the body to stable working condition.
